Common Reasons for Aging

As we age, our bodies undergo numerous changes. This includes increased oxidative stress and a loss of collagen and elastin in our skin, which means that it becomes more difficult to maintain firmness and elasticity.

Your age is just a number, but that number has a big impact on your body. As we get older, many of our body processes slow down, so it’s no surprise that wrinkles, sagging muscles, and cellulite are some of them.

Fortunately, there are simple things we can do to fight back against aging—and they’re much easier than medical options like invasive surgery or cosmetic injections.

Skin Tightening Natural Treatments

1.     Honey and Lemon Mask

Honey has long been touted as a natural skin-toughening ingredient, while lemon juice is used in various beauty treatments.

The duos are both natural anti-inflammatory agents that have similar properties to retinol (vitamin A), which effectively thins and tightens your skin.

Using honey and lemon for a mask will help give your face an instant boost of hydration, making wrinkles appear less visible.

And exfoliating dead cells on your face, it will also encourage new cell growth and make your complexion look brighter.

To use: Make a thick paste with half a teaspoon of honey and half a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. Apply to clean skin, leave on for 15 minutes then rinse off with warm water.

2.     Massage Your Face with Olive Oil

Massaging your face with olive oil will make your face shine and relax your body. It makes you look younger.

Don’t forget to massage softly in circular motions while applying it to your face. Repeat it at least thrice a week for the best outcomes.

This is also one of the home remedies for skin tightening.  This natural oil has anti-oxidants that help reduce wrinkles and fine lines on your face.

It reduces aging signs by making your skin supple, smooth, and healthy. Make sure that you buy good quality extra virgin olive oil as its purity helps in better absorption into our skin, thereby giving us healthier-looking skin than other refined ones.

To use: Just take 2 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil, add 2 drops each of lemon juice & almond essential oils along with a few drops of lavender essential oils (optional).

Mix them well so that all ingredients get mixed properly. Then apply it gently all over your face after taking bath or before going to bed at night. Don’t wash off till the next morning when you wake up.

3.     Turmeric, Gram Flour & Lemon Juice

Turmeric is one of my favorite ingredients for boosting circulation and keeping skin glowing. Mix a tablespoon of gram flour (besan) with a half teaspoon of turmeric, add juice from half a lemon and mix it in enough water to make a thick paste.

Apply it to your face and neck, avoiding your eyes. Let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing with cool water. You’ll be left with soft, supple skin!

Keep covered for 20 minutes and then wash it off. You will see visible results after two weeks of using it regularly.

5.     Almond Milk & Avocado Face Pack

This is my all-time favorite face mask. Almond milk soothes and hydrates while avocado tightens and nourishes.

Natural ingredients are great for clearing acne and blemishes on your face, too! It’s a win-win situation that will leave your skin glowing.

To use, scoop out 1⁄2 an avocado (so it’s roughly mashed) and stir in 1 tablespoon of plain almond milk.

Mix well and apply evenly to the face (avoiding sensitive areas like the eyes). Let sit for 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water, patting dry with a towel, and moisturizing as usual.

Apply to your face with circular motions for 15 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water. You’ll notice an immediate difference in how firm your skin feels after washing it off!

7.     Tomato & Cucumber Mask

Tomato is rich in vitamins and helps tighten your pores, while cucumber contains anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.

Mix one tablespoon of tomato juice with one tablespoon of cucumber juice and apply to your face for 15 minutes.

Wash it off with cold water. Doing it at least twice a week for a month will give you noticeable results.

The mask can also be prepared by mixing equal amounts of tomato paste, lemon juice, and cucumber paste. It should be applied on clean skin and left on for 20 minutes before washing it off with warm water.

The vitamin C present in lemon tightens your skin while tomatoes exfoliate dead cells from your epidermis.

Unlike other oils, vitamin E oil isn’t just for moisturizing your face. Vitamin E is best known for helping protect your skin from sun damage, and it may help with fine lines that come from sun damage or facial expressions.

To use vitamin E oil on your face as a natural skin-tightening remedy, apply a few drops to your fingers and gently rub them into areas where you want to reduce lines.

It absorbs quickly without leaving an oily residue behind. You should not use vitamin E if you have a medical condition involving skin breakouts or if you have sensitive skin.

9.     Massage Your Face with Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is high in saturated fats, and it’s been shown to be effective for moisturizing dry, damaged skin.

It also contains Lauric acid, which aids in boosting collagen production and fading age spots. Rub a teaspoon of coconut oil into your face every night before bed to give your complexion a healthy glow.

You can also use virgin coconut oil on its own as a face mask. Just leave it on for 15 minutes while you relax or go about your evening routine and then rinse with warm water. Coconut oil will leave your skin soft, smooth, and refreshed.
